A senior session

Posted in Seniors, Sessions & Shoots

I don’t do many senior portraits, mostly because I haven’t really pushed my marketing in that field (weddings and kids keep me busy enough!) but I had a great time with Micaela! She loved this picture because it made her look so grown up…I think mom liked it a little less than she did for the exact same reason :) (We got plenty of shots that mom loved too, though!)

Hmmmm.

This little one had the best facial expressions - she looks sort of concerned in this one, I think :)

A Knight’s Birthday!

Jackson turned 5 today, and celebrated with a Knight themed party! Merlin even showed up for a magic show, and there was a pretty awesome cake, too.

Erika & Michael

Posted in Weddings, Sessions & Shoots

Erika & Michael’s wedding was such a blast - their wedding party definitely knew how to have a good time, and we were able to get some really fun pictures. Erika told me at their engagement session that she was very camera shy, but I think she did a great job (and being naturally beautiful never hurts! It’s always funny to see which people think they are unphotogenic)

Those crazy kids

Posted in Kids, Sessions & Shoots

I did a session with these kids about 2 years ago, and it was great to see them again! We had a blast figuring out new poses for them to do, they were definitely game for anything!

The Bandison Family

Posted in Sessions & Shoots

Naomi hired me to do a family portrait for her dad’s birthday at the Ritz Carlton in Pasadena. They were such a sweet and loving family. More adult families should do their portraits, it seems like people let these things slide after the kids grow up and these memories are important too!

Charity & Richard in Coronado Beach!

Posted in Weddings, Sessions & Shoots

Yesterday’s wedding was one of the most photographically awesome weddings I have shot in a long time - mainly because they gave me free reign over the entire day! Charity and Richard live in Georgia, but came out for a private ceremony on the beach with just the two of them, the officiant, a guitar player, and me. Normally people doing small ceremonies like this only want a photographer for an hour or two, but these two hired me for 6 hours!

We had so much fun doing portraits on the beach, then they did a first dance at the tide pools. They hired an acoustic guitarist to play a version of Bon Jovi’s “Born to be my baby” which was so cool. After a quick stop at Starbucks and Arby’s for lunch (you gotta love a bride who has Arby’s for her wedding lunch!) we then went to their hotel so they could cut their adorable mini cake shaped like a Tiffany’s ring box. Not only were they really fun people, but I got to take so many great pictures since the whole day was about the photos! I pride myself on being able to capture great photos at any wedding, no matter what the schedule….but I have to say it was nice to have that kind of freedom!

His future is so bright he’s gotta wear shades

Posted in Kids, Sessions & Shoots

Little Ian enjoyed showing off his sunglasses and some dance moves at the park a few days ago - he also loved seeing his pictures on the big screen in my studio! He kept saying “Who’s that! That’s Ian!!”

Tiffany & Luke’s Engagement

Posted in Engagements, Sessions & Shoots

The Walt Disney Concert Hall is an awesome location for engagement pictures, and today was a really fun session! Tiffany and Luke were even willing to lay down on the ground for the sake of good pictures (I love how many of my clients are game for anything!)

The Easter Bunny!

Posted in Kids, Sessions & Shoots

I love Easter! Combining egg decorating, candy, fluffy bunnies, and scavenger hunts is just a great idea :) I shot a beautiful Easter party yesterday with about 30 kids all looking for over 500 eggs (I do not envy the hosts’ clean up job! At least they were plastic eggs)
