Kristi & Chris are such an adorable couple! (How could they not be, with matching names and everything?) Their wedding was in a great restaurant next to the Queen Mary, and their DJ was great - definitely kept the party going!  I also had a lot of fun with Kristi’s veil

Khanh & Hung had a really unique wedding - not only did they have a magician walking around doing magic tricks for the tables, but Khanh’s little neice did a beautiful hula dance for everyone, and they also had a candy table! A tip to brides: if you want to make your photographer happy, give her candy!

This weekend we went to Maui, Hawaii to shoot the gorgeous wedding of
Barbara & Gil. They had never been to Hawaii and managed to plan a perfect
wedding completely sight unseen - I’m impressed! After a lovely ceremony
overlooking the ocean, they had an event-filled wedding including a great
choreographed first dance, a slideshow, and even a surprise performance by
Gil, who learned to play the guitar just so he could sing his own special
version of ‘Grow Old With You’ to Barbara. It was really lovely!

Brian & Shanan are actually family friends of mine, so I was thrilled to fly out to the east coast to shoot their wedding. They are such a sweet couple, but they definitely know how to throw a party! I loved the enthusiasm of the bridal party when the officiant pronounced them man and wife!

This weekend I actually got to be a guest at a wedding for once! My uncle Tony married his lovely fiancé Jane in San Francisco and I sat in the audience like a normal person They had their reception at the Fort Mason Firehouse, which is this really cool building that has been set up for events and things - very hip! Their wedding was very heartfelt and lovely, they wrote their own vows and incorporated traditions from both of their families. And of course I couldn’t resist sneaking in a few pictures!

Alverno is an all-girl’s school in Sierra Madre (talk about local for me!) but they host a few weddings on the weekends, and it is such a lovely place! Katie & Rick’s wedding turned out beautifully, the weather was great and the couple seemed to be having a fabulous time!

Disney weddings are always fun, and usually have great details, too! This one was no exception - they had awesome Disney statues as their centerpieces, and cute pins for each guest instead of table numbers. Everything was beautiful…right down to the groomsmen’s socks!

Erika & Michael’s wedding was such a blast - their wedding party definitely knew how to have a good time, and we were able to get some really fun pictures. Erika told me at their engagement session that she was very camera shy, but I think she did a great job (and being naturally beautiful never hurts! It’s always funny to see which people think they are unphotogenic)

Yesterday’s wedding was one of the most photographically awesome weddings I have shot in a long time - mainly because they gave me free reign over the entire day! Charity and Richard live in Georgia, but came out for a private ceremony on the beach with just the two of them, the officiant, a guitar player, and me. Normally people doing small ceremonies like this only want a photographer for an hour or two, but these two hired me for 6 hours!

We had so much fun doing portraits on the beach, then they did a first dance at the tide pools. They hired an acoustic guitarist to play a version of Bon Jovi’s “Born to be my baby” which was so cool. After a quick stop at Starbucks and Arby’s for lunch (you gotta love a bride who has Arby’s for her wedding lunch!) we then went to their hotel so they could cut their adorable mini cake shaped like a Tiffany’s ring box. Not only were they really fun people, but I got to take so many great pictures since the whole day was about the photos! I pride myself on being able to capture great photos at any wedding, no matter what the schedule….but I have to say it was nice to have that kind of freedom!

Cherine & Grant’s wedding was lovely, and their wedding party was hilarious! We did a photo session at Caltech before the ceremony, which was a great idea. They also gathered their entire wedding crowd for a group photo, which was pretty funny.
